CHITRADURGA FORT
The city chitradurga is famous for its fort which is locally known as Kallina Kote (Stone Fortress), which is also formed of two Kannada words ‘Kallina’ means "Stone's" and Kote means "Fort". the fort is also called in Kannada as ‘Ukkina Kote" (Steel Fort) and ‘Yelusuttina Kote’(Seven Circles Fort).
Chitradurga is located on the valley of River Vedavathi making it a perfect place tourists place and to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. The city attracts thousands of tourists every year. The place has many tourists attractions like Chitradurga fort, Chandravalli caves, onake obavanna kindi and many temples inside the fort itself. VANIVILASA SAGARA
Vani Vilasa Sagara, popularly known as Mari Kanive is a dam in Hiriyur Taluk, Chitradurga District,it was built by the Mysore Maharajas pre-independence across the river Vedavathi. Vani Vilasa Sagara is the oldest dam in the state.
Adumalleshwara temple was built by Aadooru Mallappa. This is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple premise also has a small zoo which has animals like panthers, deer, tigers, etc. The temple has an everlasting stream which runs through the Nandi's mouth, which is the main attraction here.
